FREE ACTING SHAKESPEARE WORKSHOP

Bardo Theatre Company provides an introductory workshop on techniques to unlock Shakespeare’s verse led by Artistic Director Tim Hackney. The workshop includes a physical warm-up, group exercises, and an opportunity to work on a Shakespearean monologue. Participants will learn techniques to surprise themselves and their audience while emphasizing the importance of play. Tim Hackney (Instructor) is an accomplished actor, director, and teacher dedicated to collaborative storytelling with ensembles. After pursuing his BFA at Montclair State University, Tim further honed his craft at esteemed institutions such as Shakespeare & Company and the William Esper Studio. Tim directed and played KJ in Bardo Theatre Company's production of The Aliens by Annie Baker and portrayed Edward Snowden in Is Edward Snowden Single? by Kate Cortesi (Winner Best Ensemble, ArtportNH Award). His national tours include Peter and the Starcatcher, Spamalot, and The Drowsy Chaperone, with notable regional roles such as Joe Pitt in Angels in America, Father in Violet and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. His teaching experience spans across schools and theatres nationwide, and he looks forward to bringing his passion and expertise to this acting workshop. He is the Artistic Director of Bardo Theatre Company.
